these were the words one of my dearest friends and former design school classmate used to describe my style of interior design. i don't think i even realized it at the time but it has since become a guiding principal for my design philosophy.
your home should tell a story, it should be a story of intrigue, history, the future and most importantly - it should tell the story of the moment. it shouldn't be a perfect story, all glossy and smooth, there should be some wrinkles, wear, "we live here" moments. there should be some pieces with a history and stories all their own - either stories known or stories mysteriously hidden in the history of the pieces. there should be comfort, for you, for your family, for your modern life. there should be an understanding of how you live and how you want to live. there should be an ease to your home, a symphony of new and old, relaxation, inspiration, entertainment and of life...
