I was raised in a small Mennonite/Amish community in southern Iowa. We didn't have a lot of entertainment options so I spent most of my spare time either drawing or playing outside. As long as I can remember I have loved designing spaces. As a young boy I spent many hours in the woods making "homes" out of anything that I could find - while trying to coax my unwilling brother to help me haul logs and branches to make walls and furniture. In my imagination those log and branch walls were transformed into amazing spaces.
As a Mennonite I was not allowed to go on to college so right out of school I went into home construction. I loved physically building something out of nothing. The work was hard but the experience I gained from the construction has been an invaluable resource to me in Interior Design.
It took awhile, a lot of nerve, and a detour by the way of Montreal, Canada but eventually I ended up in Chicago at Harrington College of Design studying Interior Design and fulfilling my dream to go on to school and become an Interior Designer.
I love city of Chicago and the Chicago area. I am thrilled to call this place home and to be creating the story of my life here. Somewhere along the way I met this guy who has became my partner, and I am just love life...
but now... let's here your story.
